Secretary’s Position – Recruitment Process (28/13)

As members were formally advised in our InBrief newsletter (09/13) of 21 May 2013, I will be stepping down as Secretary of The Police Association upon the expiry of my contract on April 6 next year.

In the same newsletter we further advised that The Police Association Executive would be working towards establishing a comprehensive recruitment process by the end of the year to appoint a new Secretary.

We can advise that this recruitment process is ready to commence with an advertisement for the position to appear in this weekend’s press, prominent online job boards, and from today, on The Police Association’s website –

The advertisement will also feature in the December edition of The Police Association Journal.

The timing of this recruitment process is geared towards realising the Executive’s intention for the successful applicant to commence shortly before my tenure ends so that there will be a seamless ‘hand-over’ of the role, thereby ensuring all of our members interests are best served throughout the process.
