As a member of our Legal/Discipline team reporting to the Legal Manager, the successful applicant for this newly-created position will be based at the Association’s East Melbourne offices and will be required to discharge a range of responsibilities. These include the provision of advice and advocacy for members who have been charged with serious discipline breaches as well as representation of members at discipline inquiry hearings and reviews at the Police Registration and Services Board.
The successful applicant will have a sound knowledge of the Victoria Police Act 2013 (Vic) and related legislation, policies and procedures, and will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to the values of the Association.
Current or past sworn policing experience and a relevant tertiary qualification are both preferable. There is also a requirement to travel on a regular basis anywhere within the state and to work extended hours, if, and when, required.
